This role ensures compliance with state, federal, and The Joint Commission standards and drives initiatives to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital and the community. This role requires expertise in infection prevention, improvement science, and collaboration with various hospital departments to implement effective infection control measures. Qualifications: Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing License/Registration:

Registered Nurse License issued by Florida or Compact State Certification:

Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Infection Prevention, preferably in an acute care setting. Demonstrated experience in implementing evidence-based infection control practices and improvement science. Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Infection Control Expertise:

Knowledge of infection prevention principles, with the ability to develop, implement, and evaluate infection control policies that align with state, federal, and The Joint Commission standards. Data Analysis and Surveillance:

Proficient in conducting infection control surveillance, data analysis, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate infection risks. Leadership and Collaboration:

Effective communicator who can consult and work collaboratively with department managers, staff, and external agencies to promote a culture of safety and infection prevention. Training and Education:

Skilled in delivering training and education on infection control protocols to healthcare providers, staff, and the community. Regulatory Knowledge:

Familiarity with local, state, and national infection reporting requirements, and experience in reporting healthcare-acquired infections and communicable diseases.
