Director of Infection Prevention – Charleston, SC
Location : Charleston, SC
Schedule : Full-Time, Days (No Weekends)
Compensation : Up to $140,000 annually, plus a 15% eligible incentive bonus
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced
Director of Infection Prevention
to lead and coordinate a hospital-wide Infection Prevention Program. This role is responsible for surveillance, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections, staff education, and the development of rigorous infection control policies and procedures. The position spans multiple facilities, ensuring consistent and exceptional infection prevention standards. Key Responsibilities Oversee the Infection Prevention Program across multiple facilities, including acute care hospitals and freestanding emergency departments. Conduct surveillance, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections. Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention policies and procedures. Educate staff and provide guidance to ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the Infection Prevention Committee to identify areas for improvement and execute preventive strategies. Maintain ongoing regulatory compliance programs with federal, state, and local agencies. Lead a team of Infection Prevention Practitioners and Data Analysts to achieve quality and patient safety outcomes. Qualifications Licensure : Active professional nurse license or related healthcare licensure required (if applicable). Certification : Certification in Infection Prevention (CIC) required. Education : Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field required; Master’s Degree in a health-related field preferred. Experience : Minimum of 5 years in a clinical setting; at least 5 years of experience in infection prevention required; 2+ years of leadership experience required. Additional Information This role oversees infection prevention efforts across multiple facilities, including Trident and Summerville locations and freestanding emergency departments (FSEDs). Supported by Infection Prevention Practitioners and a dedicated Data Analyst.
