What you will do:
The Procedure Center provides both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including ultrasound-guided vascular and non-vascular procedures, bone marrow biopsies with or without sedation, skin biopsies, and incision and drainages. Vascular procedures include PICC lines, central lines, tunneled central lines, and implanted subcutaneous indwelling ports. Non-vascular procedures include paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, indwelling tunneled cavitary cuffed drainage catheter insertion, and chest tube insertion. Additionally, the candidate is expected to be able to consult on these specific procedures and manage any complications associated with each procedure. Analyzes and prioritizes the care of clinically sophisticated patients/clients, including sociocultural, cognitive, functional, nutritional, and educational evaluation, leading to the development of a problem list and patient management plan, and communicates to the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team. Acts as a patient advocate throughout the care process and represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences. Assesses the quality of patient care delivery and finds opportunities for changes in practice, rooted in evidence-based standards of care/protocols, which promote positive patient outcomes. Adjusts to the evolving needs of patients and the healthcare environment, demonstrating flexibility in approach and care strategies.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. California Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License. DEA License (schedule 2-5). National Provider Identifier (NPI). ACLS/PALS Certification. One (1) plus years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in bedside procedures, line care management, and procedural complications.
