Job Description:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Information Technology (VPIT) is responsible for providing leadership, management, and supervision of the college's information technology (IT) infrastructure and enterprise computer applications that support the college's business processes, instruction, and services.
WORK PERFORMED • Develops and maintains a strategic unit plan to provide guidance, vision, and accountability for the information technology resources and services. • Leads the daily operations of information technology services in support of administrative, student services, and academic resources. • Responsible for risk management, resource allocation, project prioritization, and research and recommendation of new systems and software products and services. • Conducts research and makes recommendations on hardware and software purchases and negotiates with vendors on behalf of the college. • Ensures maximum uptime and stability of the college's computer systems and networks. • Maintains security practices and technology to protect the college's technology systems and data. • Leads and oversees help desk services, college and auxiliary websites, copier and print services, and identity management system. • Serves as a member of the president's team and other college and community committees and boards. • Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of the unit staff.
SUPERVISION The VPIT provides direct supervision of the following positions: • Director, Administrative Information Systems • Director, Student Computer Support • Director, User & Network Services • Executive Assistant • Executive Director of Information Technology Services • Executive Director of Planning, Research, and Organizational Development
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED • Possesses a graduate degree in a related discipline. • Demonstrates a strong and current knowledge of computing, telecommunications, networking, and security. • Has at least five years of significant management and supervisory experience in a related field of information technology. • Experience in higher education preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS • Proven record of progressively responsible leadership and managerial experience in information technology. • Ability to lead, provide vision, and supervise a diverse staff of IT professionals. • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
WORKING CONDITIONS Fast-paced, deadline-driven, office working environment. Flexibility required.
Additional Information: Hours Per Week: 37.5 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus excellent health insurance, paid leave, and tuition reimbursement FLSA Status: Exempt Open Until Filled
