Jabil is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Test Framework Software Development Engineer who will directly contribute to the transformative growth within our Enterprise and Infrastructure division by applying unique and innovative approaches to solving problems within a large-scale software production environment. The Principal Manufacturing Test Framework Software Development Engineer plays a vital role in developing software solutions that automate the building, deployment, and testing of manufacturing applications. These applications ensure the quality and reliability of hardware products, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for contributing to the end-to-end architecture, definition, development and production deployment of production software applications and infrastructure spanning multiple customers and manufacturing regions. You will also be responsible for interfacing with internal engineering, manufacturing and quality teams and our end customers to ensure your software deliverables meet the rigorous standards of Jabil’s world-class manufacturing environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities:
Manufacturing Test Framework Development: Participate in the design and development of complex, scalable software solutions across the full manufacturing test framework stack
Full Stack Development: Design and implement robust front-end interfaces using Angular. Develop and maintain highly available back-end services and APIs using Python and Java. Design and manage relational databases, primarily MySQL.
DevOps and Deployment: Design, implement, and maintain DevOps pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes. Use Ansible to automate deployment of full stack configurations
Virtualization: Implement and manage Docker container services. Configure and maintain Linux-based virtual machines and environments.
Software operations: Optimize application performance and scalability in a manufacturing context.
Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for software, systems, and processes.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure alignment on testing requirements and quality standards
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest advancements in testing technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices to keep manufacturing processes competitive and up to date
Definition and collaboration on overall application infrastructure and application architectures.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Expertise in one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, TypeScript plus familiarity with the others.
Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL for database design, optimization, and management.
Expertise in DevOps pipeline development and tools, including Azure DevOps, Docker and Ansible.
Strong knowledge of front-end frameworks such as Angular and React with expertise in TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
Linux development expertise with a solid understanding of its fundamentals: Ubuntu/ CentOS and Bash scripting.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as Docker, Docker Swarm, and VMWare.
Strong knowledge of REST API design and implementation.
Experience with code versioning tools (Git preferred).
Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field. MS preferred.
10+ years of experience in developing, deploying and maintaining full stack applications.
Experience developing applications for a manufacturing test environment with enterprise server, storage or networking products preferred.
Experience implementing machine learning pipelines or working with LLMs is an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environments.
Domestic and/or International travel, up to 10%, may be required.
