Reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for creating certified, safe, and legally compliant engineered solutions for WesTrac. This role involves designing, developing, and capturing certified Dealer Provided Options (DPO) for external customers. Additionally, it includes the design and assessment of certified workshop equipment and tools to ensure safety and legal compliance.
The role involves creating approved engineering designs and solutions, analysing Engineering Design Orders (EDO) and Dealer Provided Options (DPO) with stakeholders, suppliers, and CAT systems to meet customer requirements. Responsibilities include compliance, safety, and risk assessments, manual calculations, stress analysis, and documenting designs.
The engineer will produce risk reports, functional safety assessments, quality documents, and manufacturing packs, provide ad-hoc engineering support, and maintain records in line with WesTrac quality systems.

Guildford PDC To be successful within the role: Knowledge of regulations, standards, and guidelines, including Health, Safety, and Environment standards. Proficiency in manual design calculations, engineering documentation, and technical review for machine modifications. Understanding of Australian and International design standards. Experience in resolving mechanical issues for mobile equipment. Project management skills, delivering business-focused outcomes, and experience working in project-based teams. Strong initiative, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Nastran. Professional Engineering (PE - Stage 1 Competency) status with Engineers Australia. Experience in finite element analysis (FEA) is desirable.
