Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. This position is for a Mid-Level Software Engineer on the C2BMC Global program. Essential Functions: Primarily responsible for software development using Java.

Work independently or with a small group in a dynamic environment.

Provide in-depth analysis and technical support of a large, distributed system written in Java.

Perform complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support for a large code baseline.

Follow specifications to develop or modify functionality within the code.

Assist with design, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation.

Design, code, test, and implement tools for automation.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Current DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, CISSP).

Strong background programming in Java.

Experience working as part of an Agile team.

Java Spring experience and knowledge.

Knowledge and experience with containerization tools such as Docker/Kubernetes.

Experience developing enterprise applications.

Use of common software development and management tools such as Git, JIRA, and Eclipse.

Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.

Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility to take on unanticipated tasks.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.

Current active in-scope DoD issued secret security clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Active and current TS/SCI clearance at the time of application is highly desired.

Salary Range:
