Summary/Description:
The UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking a full-time, motivated professional for the position of Clinical Faculty (Open Rank)/Clinical Pharmacist who will be assigned to UI Health's Family Medicine services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to patients in the family medicine areas in the hospital and on-site clinics at the University of Illinois Hospital. The hospital is a 450-bed academic institution located approximately 2 miles west of downtown Chicago. The hospital serves an urban, indigent patient population.
Duties:
The family medicine clinical pharmacist is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team in the hospital and clinics. The Clinical Pharmacist duties include medication review and reconciliation, medication selection and dosing recommendations, TPN management, immunosuppression and infectious disease prophylaxis selection, management of nausea and pain, therapeutic drug monitoring, provision of drug information, and patient education. The candidate will also be responsible for nurse, physician, and pharmacy staff development; coordinating and conducting quality initiative projects and developing collaborative treatment and research protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
PharmD and PGY1 residency experience required. Candidates must present evidence of, or eligibility for, Illinois licensure as a professional pharmacist at the time of employment. Must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for a non-tenured clinical faculty position within the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the UIC College of Pharmacy. Academic rank commensurate with experience.

Highly preferred: strong clinical knowledge base; analytical and problem-solving skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to consistently meet deadlines; demonstrate flexibility and ability to work independently and adapt to a changing work environment; excellent planning, time management and organizational skills.
