Job Description
The Digital Director leads a team of digital specialists to expand our audience and increase engagement for Mariners Church through the use of digital capabilities, including online, social media, digital media, mobile app, as well as a variety of digital applications and channels. The Director leads the team to effectively collaborate with ministry partners to support church priorities, develops key processes, and partners in the development and management of a roadmap for key digital technologies. This position reports to the Communications Pastor on the Communications team. A full time position, the schedule is generally Monday-Friday. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Key Responsibilities
Manages and develops a team of digital specialists including design, social media, development, and analytics to support overall communications objectives for Mariners Church. Leads in the development of digital systems for our existing and new congregations and ministries to adopt and benefit from the use of technology while creating consistency in execution and experience. Manages and improves our digital properties and channels including design, functionality, performance and content offerings. Leverages digital channels (owned and 3rd party), content, and platforms to grow Mariners Church’s overall reach. This may include live streaming online church, online video programming, podcasts, social media (content & engagement), digital advertising, and growing communication channels. Utilizes digital capabilities to support the accomplishment of objectives, including growing congregations, supporting outreach programs, and helping to connect guests to established discipleship processes. Leads in the development of digital analytics and reporting, including the production, communication and ongoing improvement of key performance dashboards. Creates and manages development processes for ministry digital projects to ensure high quality outcomes. Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience leading digital communications teams including UX, Development team members, social media, as well as managing digital properties like Wordpress sites, mobile apps, etc. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in: Google Suite including Excel; Database/Newsletter systems like Rock RMS, MailChimp, Constant Contact; Social Media Scheduling Apps such as Sprouts and CRMs Sharpspring or similar. Creative, flexible, detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects/deadlines successfully. Strong written and oral communication; grammar, spelling, copyediting and proofreading.
