We are seeking a Configuration Manager to join our team in Herndon, VA. This role is essential to ensuring the integrity and consistency of software, hardware, and systems configurations across projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for process improvement, a deep understanding of configuration management principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational teams. This role is on-site in Herndon OR Chantilly, VA. Candidate must hold an active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI with polygraph. What you get to do. Establish and maintain a comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) process to ensure control of software, hardware, and system changes. Develop and manage configuration management plans and standard operating procedures in accordance with industry best practices and Maxar policies. Track, control, and audit baselines, configuration items (CIs), and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency. Support the development, integration, and deployment of systems by managing builds, releases, and change control processes. Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring all updates are accurate and completed promptly. Collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to implement and enforce CM processes. Ensure compliance with DoD and intelligence community standards for configuration and change management. Provide regular reports and updates on CM activities and maintain records of configuration status, change requests, and audits. Assist in configuration-related reviews, inspections, and audits to ensure system readiness and adherence to requirements. Required Qualifications. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering) or equivalent experience. Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain a CI Poly. Minimum five – seven (5-7) + years of experience in configuration management, preferably in defense, intelligence, or government contracting environments. Expertise in configuration management tools such as JIRA, Git, CM Pro, or equivalent systems. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies. Knowledge of government and industry standards such as ITIL, ISO 9001, and CMMI. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications. Configuration Management certifications such as CMII, ITIL Foundation, or CMMI Associate. Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
