Field Service Technician (Manufacturing)

Aegis is seeking a candidate to join our client's organization. They are HQ in the Chicagoland area, but this position is 100% remote and requires 80% travel to client sites throughout the West Coast region of the US. This person must live in California and near an airport.
The ideal candidate has the below qualifications:
Must Have’s:
5+ years of experience – the last guy we placed had 20 years of experience - very open on this.
Electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience troubleshooting PLC’s (programming is a plus) Working with voltage of 120v up to 480v Experience reading electrical schematics
Strong mechanical aptitude
Good foundational understanding of how equipment works and how machinery is put together. Ability to read a basic blueprint for a motor and be able to assemble it by reading the blueprint.
Ability and willingness to travel - before this person begins to go to client sites, they will be training for 2-3 months at Triangle and take an assessment they need to pass prior to starting to be independent at client sites. Just making sure they can make that work (home on the weekends I would assume). Good presentation skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations. Pluses: B.S. or A.A.S. or Certifications in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or another applied hands-on degree. Experience working with the installation, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of capital equipment
Specifically packaging equipment would be icing on the cake. Experience with baggers, weights, vertical form fill seal or horizontal form fill seal machines would be a HUGE plus.
Knowledge of Automation – any sort of Automation technology or automated equipment, conveyors, robots, etc. PLC Programming experience – whether it is certificates or hands-on experience editing PLC Logic. Bilingual. Travel: 80% of the time Overnight bonus Hourly increases when onsite with clients ($4 increase every hour spent at client site) Per diem daily offered Company Description:
