Design for reliability through statistical approach. New Product has completed successfully 200 hours of endurance testing. New Product in operation at field site currently. Criticality of reliability and uptime is a value driver for customer and most important. Identify process conditions and possible related loading conditions or environmental factors which lead to failure modes. The product has several system elements and is part of a large system. Much data has been gathered, but the product has been operating for a small amount of time relatively. Expected to run much longer (order of magnitude) than what it has already. There have been a couple of events that have caused stoppage of operation to date, so limited data points. Using the data available and ongoing data from the field, using statistical analysis to identify modes of failure and life expectation with confidence levels through Weibull approach and reliability software tools such as ReliaSoft. After output of analysis, give input to key design improvement and future testing approach including HALT.
