Summary

Fujifilm Sonosite is seeking a Human Factors Engineering Intern to work collaboratively on defining, developing, and evaluating our ultrasound product portfolio (systems, transducers, accessories, etc.) during the summer of 2025. This role involves collaboration across disciplines and with external vendors to create superior user experiences based on human factors principles and a human-centered design process. The intern will learn and apply Human Factors principles and methods for user research, requirements definition, and evaluation throughout the product development process. Essential Job Functions: Develop research plans and test protocols, conduct usability research, and document findings. Support various disciplines, including user needs development, usability specification definition, user interface design, usability testing, and use error analysis. Apply human factors methodologies to understand end-user behaviors and preferences. Participate in developing design control procedures for legacy products and new product development. Assist in formative and summative usability studies for direct end-user feedback. Maintain usability engineering files for compliance with IEC 62366 and quality management system procedures. Knowledge and Experience: Pursuing an advanced degree (at least MS/MA) in Human Factors Psychology/Engineering, Usability Engineering, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, or a related engineering field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and collaboration skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Adaptability to changing priorities and workloads. Diplomatic assertiveness. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without accommodations. Skills and Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills.
