Overview Verathon is looking for a UX Designer III to become the newest member of our Research & Development team located in our Bothell, WA headquarters. Responsibilities Perform research and user testing to define UI workflows and user needs Participate in formative human factors studies Translate user needs, system requirements and software level requirements into user interfaces Design and illustrate all graphics and write all text within the UI, collaborating with stakeholders throughout the design process: - architect the look, feel, and flow of product user interfaces - craft user interface specifications that facilitate R&D development of software and technical publications - incorporate stakeholder feedback regarding usability, localization, clinical expectations, product requirements, scheduling, and technical capabilities. Create UI wireframes and workflows, then communicate designs to project stakeholders and developers Create information architecture, organizing and structuring content and labels Build screen-based UI prototypes for exploratory and formal testing Create ISO 62366-compliant user interface specifications Use FDA's 'Applying Human Factors and Usability Engineering to Medical Devices' guidance document to ensure products will be safe and effective for the intended users, uses and use environments Participate in project planning and ensure assigned tasks are completed according to schedule Support program teams with mockups and user testing events Qualifications BS in Computer Science, Graphic or UI design, or equivalent technical degree Minimum of 5 years of experience in UX design Experience with Qt software tools preferred Proficient in graphic design and illustration using Adobe Creative Cloud - Illustrator and Photoshop Highly proficient in documentation and diagramming programs - Visio or Lucid Chart Proficient in prototyping/wireframing program or language (Axure, Figma, etc.) for UI design Capable of designing and/or coding prototypes of touchscreen user interfaces Experience with designing embedded device interfaces, not just web/mobile interfaces Familiarity with iterative design and Agile software development Experience with Jira, Jama, and Gitlab preferred Knowledge of accessibility requirements and best practices preferred Experience with medical device development preferred, in particular familiarity with 60601-1 and FDA requirements for human factors engineering, including ISO 62366 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent documentation proficiency Salary range - $116,480- $152,813 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary
