What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will provide overall direction, guidance, definition and advocacy for the development of future technology and architectural advancements to support architectural strategy, technology migration, integration and evolution of the State's technical infrastructure. You will support innovation in AI and enterprise platform technologies. While assigned initiatives and duties will vary – general workload mix will target 50% enterprise architecture, 50% AI + innovation related focus. You will work with the Portfolio Manager, the Cloud Innovation and Governance Manager, Executive Management, and other stakeholders to establish processes that gather appropriate system, service and project data necessary to support: Analyzing and defining architectural requirements at portfolio level and communicating enterprise technology guidance and decision principles; Analyzing the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement and automation; Assessing the capacity and resource utilization of architecturally significant (singularly or as a group) applications and technologies; Promoting new architectural approaches, standards, patterns and technologies; Incorporating analysis, assessments, and recommendations into foundational documents, like the OIT Technology Architecture Roadmap, Statewide IT Strategic Plan. The Working Environment You Can Expect You will be stationed in Juneau, Anchorage or Fairbanks. OIT maintains office space in all three cities. OIT fully supports voluntary hybrid telework work aligned with the State of Alaska telework policy and the duties of the position. Daily, you will use Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Azure and other tools to manage enterprise-wide initiatives and projects. You will work closely with the Strategy and Agency Services section deputy and other members of the OIT leadership team. Your oversight and management work will enable coordination of work streams to meet high-profile, customer-facing deliverables. You will collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside of OIT, including key stakeholders within other departments. Your clear, organized, and factual approach will be responsive to customer challenges and assure those customers get the anticipated value out of the OIT services they depend on. Who We Are Looking For We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies: Enterprise Architecture: Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methods of enterprise architecture to align information technology (IT) strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization. Information Technology Architecture: Knowledge of architectural methodologies used in the design and development of information systems, including the physical structure of a system's internal operations and interactions with other systems. Information Technology Performance Assessment: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools (for example, surveys, system performance measures) to assess the effectiveness and practicality of information technology systems. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Management, Programming, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline AND Professional experience in multiple Information Technology areas that includes at least 4 years of experience with technical data, including data modeling/analysis; reporting/analytics delivery; extract, transport, and load (ETL) architecture and development; and/or design and construction of relational databases in multiple platforms for different consumption patterns.
