This position is contingent on contract award Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a
Senior Principal Systems Engineer
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will support a growing portfolio of programs and IRADs that focus on missile defense, space, and intelligence and will support various modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) project teams in evaluating the mission performance of military systems. Domestic travel (up to 10%) may be required, dependent on program needs.
This position will specifically focus on the development and analysis of models and simulations utilizing the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) Framework. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and 8 years of related experience, OR Master of Science in a STEM field and 6 years of related experience, OR PhD in STEM field and 4 years of related experience
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Experience working along the left side of the “Systems Engineering Vee”
Experience developing systems engineering models using the Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and Cameo
Comfortable communicating technical information to technical and non-technical customers
Experience mentoring and developing junior-level engineers
Ability to lead a team and work autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
Master’s degree in Systems Engineering
Experience using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)
Experience using agile development methodologies
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Graduate Certificate
INCOSE CSEP (or above) certification
Object Modeling Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Model Builder Fundamental Certification
Experience soliciting, writing, and decomposing requirements
Firm understanding of requirements for both software and hardware
Experience writing test plans and procedures with requirements mapping
Experience developing end item data packages with verification artifacts
Experience working with integrated software and hardware solutions
