Overview

This role is responsible for leading the Mobile App DevOps team for the supply chain vertical business lines (VBL’s). The team is responsible for multiple products including: CFA Supply App – Android/iOS/iPad app that puts supply chain in the hands of restaurant operators and enables amazing customer support. RoutCFA App – Android app used by drivers and transportation managers. This is a critical app that guides drivers through deliveries and safety-related processes. Supply Hub – Web-based portal to implement master data configuration, ad hoc communications to restaurants, restaurant onboarding, and transportation-related business processes. RS Automation – Backend service that automates over 65% of ServiceNow incidents. This highly productive team delivers releases in an agile fashion nearly every week to continuously improve existing functionality and deliver new functionality. This is a DevOps team, so the team provides 24/7 on-call operational support for all developed solutions. About Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods As wholly owned subsidiaries of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods are food production and distribution services networks focused entirely on serving the unique needs and growing volume of Chick-fil-A restaurants. The Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods service networks are comprised of three components: Distribution Center – State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants. Production Distribution Center – Offsite facilities that prepare select ingredients and menu items for Chick-fil-A restaurants. Transportation – Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants. Responsibilities

Own solution architecture decisions for the team’s products. Lead delivery and operations of the team’s products, including both individual contribution and support as well as delegated tasks and support to your team’s engineers. We desire our lead engineers to be both leads and engineers, spending about half of their time on leading others and half contributing engineering work themselves. Lead, mentor, and assess other staff engineers, exemplifying and teaching best practices, helping to solve complex problems, reviewing code, and sharing experiences - Interview, select, onboard, and oversee contract engineers. Assist in the design and delivery of products outside of your team, develop tools and processes for use outside of your team, and/or mentor other engineers or especially lead engineers outside of your team. Guide partner-led engineering workstreams, contributing to solution design and code reviews. Guide engineering team in the adoption of Chick-fil-A software engineering standards - Identify & propose emerging software engineering technologies, methodologies, and/or approaches. Drive operational and engineering excellence for the DevOps team. Gain a deep understanding of business processes across the supply chain so the team can maximize impact and operate at a high level. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired. 7 years of relevant work experience:

Experience designing complex software solutions. Experience designing and implementing Android and iOS mobile applications. Experience designing and implementing web-based applications. Experience designing and implementing cloud-based backend solutions for highly transactional systems. Experience mentoring and leading a team, including good interpersonal and team collaboration skills. Experience leading an agile development team, including sprints, pointing, and daily standups. Broad and deep programming experience in Java, JavaScript, Python, and/or comparable languages. Experience with SQL and data modeling. Experience with Git for source control and setting up automated CI/CD processes and technologies. Experience implementing application security, software design patterns, and the SDLC.

Proven ability to positively influence the engineering culture and practices in a professional environment. Partner closely with technical product owners to understand, estimate, and deliver on business requirements. Knowledge:

Broad awareness and understanding of the Chick-fil-A technology portfolio and related capabilities. Extensive understanding of the Chick-fil-A restaurant, distribution, transportation, and food manufacturing business models.

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Collaborative skills across technical, product, and business teams. Full stack technical skills including Kubernetes, AWS, Python, Go-lang, TypeScript, iOS app development, Android app development, React, and React Native.

Confidently lead technical teams with a diverse set of technology from mobile apps to web apps to cloud-based technologies. Act and project calm and confidence while working through stressful and complex operational issues. Lead complex work across multiple business process areas. Note: Working in a DevOps model, this opportunity includes both building and running solutions that could require off-hours support. This support is shared amongst the team members to cover weekends and weeknights. The goal is to design for failure and, using cloud-native infrastructure patterns, automate responses to possible issues so they can be worked during normal hours. Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree. 7+ years of relevant work experience:

Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools. Experience developing and delivering microservice and event-driven programming. Experience with monitoring and alerting technologies.

Deep understanding of AWS technologies and architecture. Deep understanding of Docker/Kubernetes and CNCF-related technologies. Minimum Years of Experience
