Job Title: Pharmacist Job Specialty: General Pharmacy Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10 hours, 4 days a week Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified License: Licensed as a Pharmacist in the State Certifications: RPH - Pharmacist State of Texas Must-Have: Proficiency with EPIC software, Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree Job Description: - Promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems. - Perform duties as a registered pharmacist consistent with standards and regulations. - Ensure the appropriateness of all medication doses in reference to patient diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions. - Accurately enter medication orders in the computer system to prevent medication incidents. - Ensure patients receive the correct medications, minimizing dispensing errors. - Process medication orders and deliver doses within established guidelines. - Follow aseptic technique and infection control during preparation of sterile products. - Ensure technicians and other pharmacists practice aseptic technique and infection control. - Complete annual re-certification, achieving at least 90% on aseptic technique and infection control assessments.
