The Lead Relationship Manager drives relationship development with existing and prospective clients and is responsible for profitably growing these relationships, uptiering CoBank's role, cross-selling products and services, and maintaining the credit quality within the assigned portfolio. The Lead Relationship Manager meets regularly with clients and prospects to understand their strategic direction, to gather information on their business and market trends, and to assess potential business opportunities in order to execute on Corporate Agribusiness Banking Group’s strategic objectives. Opportunities to join our high-performing and growth-oriented team don’t happen often.Essential FunctionsManages the overall profitability and credit quality of a large and complex loan portfolio within the assigned sectors, which consists of cooperatively-owned, privately held, and publicly-traded companies.Leads the origination, structuring, negotiation of terms and conditions, and execution of corporate finance transactions and manages a large loan portfolio, including a mix of agency, direct, member syndications, and participated accounts. Analyzes, structures, and obtains credit approval for transactions.Develops new business and manages existing portfolio, recommends credit decisions as appropriate; develops and implements marketing and account servicing plans to capitalize on marketing opportunities within assigned markets and/or industry segments; develops and supports the division’s account management responsibilities.Cross-markets all CoBank products and services to meet new business goals for assigned portfolio. Develops and implements plans to capitalize on marketing opportunities.Serves as primary negotiator on complex credits. Negotiates multi-lender credit facilities and inter-creditor agreements. Negotiates and documents terms and conditions.Makes decisions on loans or makes recommendations at the highest lending limits. Recommends actions in keeping with own analysis of credit worthiness. Prudently services loans to protect CoBank interests and minimize loan losses.Liaises and coordinates with Farm Credit Associations and commercial bank relationships. Fosters a collaborative environment by consistently engaging with team members and broader bank stakeholders to share market intelligence, industry insights, and best practices. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.The listed salary, other compensation and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
