The Cboe FX and UST Data Engineering team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer.
This role will design, develop, and deploy large-scale, fault tolerant data systems. We record every event on our 24x5 FX (Foreign Exchange) and UST (U.S. Treasuries) trading platforms. Billions of events are processed daily for books and records, reporting, analytics and market data products. Our proprietary tick database, built from the ground up using Java, is highly available and performant, and is a critical differentiator for Cboe FX and UST. This role entails working in a fast-paced environment where you will build and maintain software applications related to data collection and analytics. Cboe FX and UST is a global team with Software Engineering based in the New York City area. It is a hybrid environment with occasional days on-site.
Your responsibilities will be: Building/testing/maintaining applications that are highly reliable (24x5), and highly performant to collect/aggregate data on billions of data points. Driving architectural decisions/implementations to make our software resilient and scalable Writing well-designed, testable, maintainable, reusable, secure, efficient code. Identifying opportunities to improve user experience, reduce cost, and improve performance. Supporting APIs and flexible tools to query, summarize, and analyze big data. Automating monitoring and alerting of anomalous market conditions. Generating rich reports that deliver actionable business insights. Creating and maintaining wiki documentation. The ideal candidate has:
7-10 years relevant work experience Experience with:
Java (at least 5 years) Python Linux and scripting PostgreSQL or similar relational databases Git or similar version control AWS (preferable, not mandatory)
Passion for big data Strong knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability/willingness to interface with non-technical team members to convert an idea/concept into a robust solution Finance industry experience/knowledge Minimum Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related discipline Benefits and Perks
