Servpro of Wilson County is a leading disaster restoration and cleaning services provider, helping businesses and communities recover from the impacts of fires, floods, and other critical events. We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our growing team.

Role & Responsibilities

As the Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's cash flow and maintaining strong financial controls. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Invoice and Payment Processing

  • Process all incoming customer payments in a timely and accurate manner, in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Post payments to the appropriate customer accounts in QuickBooks (QBO), our accounting software
  • Verify, classify, compute, and record accounts receivable data

Accounts Receivable Reconciliation

  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger on a regular basis to ensure all payments are properly accounted for
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between the general ledger and customer statements

Collections and Credit Management

  • Proactively follow up with customers on overdue invoices, sending payment reminders and working to resolve outstanding balances
  • Monitor the creditworthiness of existing customers and recommend credit limit adjustments as needed
  • Assist with the implementation of collections strategies to minimize bad debt

Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate financial statements, aging reports, and other accounts receivable-related reports for management review
  • Provide analytical support to the accounting team, identifying trends and making recommendations to improve cash flow

Accounting Support

  • Contribute to the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with the maintenance of the accounts receivable expense monitoring platform
  • Take on additional accounting projects as needed to support the team

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelors degree in accounting or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or in a similar role
  • Proficient in QuickBooks (QBO) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Familiarity with collections strategies and credit management principles
