Comfort Keepers is seeking a dedicated, experienced Accounting Manager for our corporate office in Irvine, CA. Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager, reporting to the Accounting Director, will be responsible for maintaining accounting policies and controls, prepares financial reports, and safeguards the organization's assets. The Accounting Manager oversees accounting and financial records including general ledger, financial statements, payroll, audits, month-end processes, tax insurance handling, and management reports. The successful candidate will have extensive experience handling all aspects of the company's financial operations and administrative responsibilities.

Job Requirements:
- Function as a strategic business advisor, working closely with the Finance team on the company’s accounting issues.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the Finance team and members of the executive management team.
- Establish and maintain departmental accounting policies and procedures.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve tools/processes/organizational design for mor effective execution of accounting functions.
- Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and internal audits.
- Assist in the coordination of annual audit and review activities of external auditors.
- Support month end and year end closing.
- Ensure Payroll and other financial systems are running efficiently and seek opportunities to improve on current functionality.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, policies and procedures, and client contracts.
- Communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization.
- Ensure that the team follows standardized and documented processes for all activities.
- Drive performance management and the job evaluation process, ensuring that competency requirements and other business needs are met.
- Analyze and review various balance sheet accounts and develop sound methodology / schedules used for analysis / reconciliation / reporting.
- 7 to 9 years of experience with day-to-day financial operations of an organization.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- CPA preferred.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Must have a high degree of initiative and be willing to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment with a demonstrated customer service orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate throughout the Finance organization and with all levels of management.
- Excellent computer skills with ability to accumulate, evaluate, and interpret accounting data and provide concise executive summaries using PowerPoint & Excel that translates highly technical financial information for non-technical audiences.
