Description

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   
    • Experienced in using statistical tools, problem solving tools, and methodology. (i.e., 8D, 5Y, Fishbone etc.)
    • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions resulting from non-conformances.
    • Assist with the analysis of SPC data.
    • Develop and maintain error-proofing/mistake-proofing methods in manufacturing cells.
    • Participate in APQP team activities for IMDS submissions, Control Plans, PFMEA, and Process Flow Charts.
    • Manage new processes and implementation regarding new product launches.
    • Participate on plant continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Participate in customer meetings.
    • Participate in quality reporting and management review process.
    • Provide process improvement recommendations.
    • Effectively Monitor Customer PPM rating system and inputs minimizing negative exposure
    • Function as Primary Customer Liaison for Production Part Quality issues as directed by the QA Manager ensuring all customer-system requirements are met developing solid relationships in line with Corporate Values
    • Effectively Monitor Customer PPM rating system and inputs minimizing negative exposure
    • Organize and complete PPAP requirements for new programs and for engineering changes including customer specific run-at-rate requirements according to customer guidelines and ISO 16949 Procedures
    • Track customer-specific corrective/preventive actions ensuring that all customer expectations are met.
    • Assist Manufacturing work cell teams with achieving ISO 16949 system requirements.
    • Actively communicate quality standards to the work cell teams.
    • Follow the ISO 16949 system requirement procedures and play active role in continuously improving this system including timely response to audit non-conformances.
    • Assist in the development and revisions of PFMEAs, Control Plans, Instructions, and any other Pre-Production Planning (APQP) documentation as required.
    • Assist Manufacturing and Process Engineering in trouble-shooting issues as required.
    • Perform any other tasks and system improvements as directed while also attending all training and education workshops, classes or seminars as required.
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
    • Any additional reasonable request deemed necessary by management.
      Preferred Education/Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or related field is required or 3-5 years of related experience and / or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Automotive manufacturing experience a plus. Familiarity of process flow as it relates to lean manufacturing. Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required. Effective verbal, non-verbal, negotiation, and written communication skills and problem solving are required. Ability to sustain a high degree of professionalism while interacting with internal and external customers is required. Effective attention to detail, problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills are required. Experience with ISO-16949 and ISO-9001, PPAP, APQP, SPC is preferred. Experience with IATF is preferred. Knowledge in blueprints, gauging and specification test requirements.    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to interface with all departments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
