About the Company: Our client is an innovative and rapidly expanding Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects across a range of sectors, from commercial to healthcare and industrial. Their specialty lies in the Design-build model. They would like for this person to have either pre-existing relationships or understanding of networking in the real estate, developer, and/or owner spaces. This role will spearhead all efforts related to new business, client relations, and market expansion.
Position Overview: As the Director of Business Development, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing the firms growth strategy. You will lead a team, cultivate relationships with key clients, identify new market opportunities, and oversee the firms expansion into new sectors. This is a hands-on leadership position with a high level of autonomy, where your strategic thinking and business acumen will drive the companys success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all business development activities, including prospecting, client outreach, relationship building, and RFP management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive BD strategy to achieve revenue targets across multiple sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs
- Collaborate with leadership and project teams to align business development efforts with company goals
- Identify and pursue opportunities in new markets, ensuring diversification of project types
- Mentor and lead a growing business development team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Track and report on business development KPIs, ensuring consistent growth and opportunities
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of business development experience in the Construction industry, with a proven track record of success
- Familiarity with networking within the real estate, developer, and owner spaces
- Strong understanding of the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors, including trends, challenges, and opportunities
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage teams and collaborate cross-functionally
- Ability to identify and target a wide variety of project types, from public infrastructure to private commercial and residential developments
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to think strategically while executing tactically, with a focus on long-term growth
- A network of industry contacts that you can leverage to open doors and grow the firms presence
