Executive management position overseeing the strategic direction, implementation, and management of technology initiatives. Effectively align technology strategies with business objectives, drive digital innovation and transformation, while ensuring the security and stability of technology and infrastructure. Lead a large group of highly skilled professionals in a complex and highly regulated environment, focusing on delivering organizational strategic and operational initiatives for the organization and its field of membership efficiently and effectively. Duties & Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership

Lead and mentor a large-scale technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development. Collaborate with the executive team to develop and define organizational directions, ensuring alignment with SECU’s Strategic Pillars with a focus on employees and members. Direct responsibility and oversight for all technology teams, including digital channels, security, project management, data management, and infrastructure. Work closely with cross-functional departments to encourage and promote the capabilities of the IT organization. Strategy and Delivery

Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy, aligned with the Credit Union’s overall business objectives. Provide visionary leadership to drive innovation, digital transformation, and operational excellence. Drive the organization’s digital transformation initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance member experience, streamline operations, and drive business growth. Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and innovation. Focus teams on tangible results which directly deliver value-added benefits to business lines and membership. Oversee Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), ensuring project management practices and methodologies are effectively implemented across project and program delivery. Includes setting standards, policies, and procedures for project management, monitoring project performance, progress and budget, while maintaining alignment with strategic objectives. Collaborate with executive leadership to define technology roadmaps and prioritize investments. Identify emerging technologies and trends that can drive innovation and provide a competitive advantage, working to stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes. Operational Excellence

Oversee the management and optimization of the company’s IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and data centers. Ensure the availability, security, and reliability of technology systems and services. Develop and maintain a staff of IT professionals to design, implement and operate systems and infrastructure necessary to support the organization and any of its wholly-owned subsidiaries or other credit unions contracted with SECU for services. Ensure adherence to any regulatory requirements associated with systems, networks, and data governance. Responsible for the performance, safety, and security of the organization’s IT networks and resources, including all hardware and software. Implement best practices for IT service management, incident response, and disaster recovery. Stay current and informed on the latest cybersecurity threats and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Establish a risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate technology-related risks. People and Communication

Manage and develop IT leaders and teams, ensuring employees are aligned and equipped with the skills needed to meet the organization’s technology goals. Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development programs, fostering a work environment that encourages employee engagement and retention. Establish a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation, creativity, open communication, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication, alignment, and collaboration. Establish clear lines of communication, promoting transparency, to ensure employees are well-informed about technology and organizational updates, changes, and initiatives. Fiscal Responsibility

Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources. Monitor industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for technology investments and cost savings. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency within the IT department, including evaluating existing processes, technology utilization, and vendor contracts for savings opportunities without compromising quality or performance. Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring effective partnerships and optimal utilization of resources. Evaluate and select vendors based on their ability to meet the Credit Union’s technology needs. Continually assess the ROI on IT investments and initiatives, monitoring benefits, risks, and costs associated with implementation and upgrade of technology efforts. Requirements

Must have a four-year degree with at least 10 years of experience overseeing IT operations in a financial institution or large organization. Experience must include demonstrated ability to support large-scale digital initiatives. Experience with core system replacement projects is preferred. Strong knowledge of technology trends, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements related to information technology and data security, preferably in a large financial institution. Demonstrated experience in driving digital transformation initiatives and implementing emerging technologies. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Experience with executive, Board and regulatory communication/presentation strongly preferred. Must be knowledgeable of Credit Union operations and possess a demonstrated ability to lead, delegate, motivate and direct Credit Union staff. Must work to uphold the desired level of service to members while maintaining the Credit Union’s financial strength. Dedication to the Credit Union philosophy and work ethic. Must be able to speak English fluently, possessing effective written and oral communication skills. Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers. Must be cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers. Must adhere to the Credit Union’s work schedule and attendance policy. EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in an Information Technology field. AND 10 years’ direct experience leading Information Technology initiatives, covering all aspects of technology and business management. Concentration in financial services preferred.
