Department Overview

OHSU Family Medicine is part of OHSU School of Medicine. OHSU Family Medicine focuses on family health, providing preventive, primary, and specialty care for individuals of all ages, from maternity care through geriatrics. Our clinics serve over 120,000 patients annually, and our physicians and staff know their patients and families by name. OHSU Family Medicine supports a comprehensive scope to provide the highest level of care for our community, including services for substance use disorder and gender-affirming care. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.

Function/Duties of Position

The faculty member will be expected to have a strong commitment to developing the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation, successful from both a professional and business perspective.

The NP faculty member may be assigned an MD/DO supervisor, with whom they will meet regularly to collaborate on professional growth and faculty development.

The NP faculty member’s schedule will include eight half-days of direct patient care and supervision of students and other university learners at the OHSU Family Medicine clinics. A portion of the workday is allocated for administration and scholarly activities. The expected work week will be flexible, rotating among different Family Medicine clinics.

The faculty member will participate in continuing education, professional development, and scholarship as directed by the department.

Previous work experience in primary care is required.

Compensation includes a University base salary and a clinical incentive system based on practice success and personal initiative.

Required Qualifications

Current Nurse Practitioner license for the state of Oregon, State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges, and DEA certification.
