Position Title: HR Generalist
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Salary Range: $75,000 and above
Position Summary:
The HR Generalist is a critical member of the Human Resources team, responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations and supporting the overall strategic goals of the department. This role requires a versatile professional with a broad knowledge of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and training.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements and source qualified candidates.
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screenings, interviews, and offer letters.
Oversee onboarding processes to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the company.
Employee Relations:
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
Mediate workplace conflicts and foster a positive, productive work environment.
Promote company culture and values through HR programs and initiatives.
Compliance & Policy Management:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Update and maintain employee handbooks and HR policies as needed.
Conduct regular audits of HR practices to ensure consistency and compliance.
Performance Management:
Support performance appraisal processes, including goal-setting and evaluations.
Provide guidance to managers on coaching, development, and disciplinary actions.
Training & Development:
Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions for employees and managers.
HR Administration:
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS systems.
Process payroll, benefits administration, and leave management as required.
Generate HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 2-5 years of experience in HR or related roles.
Certifications: PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Thorough understanding of HR best practices and employment law.
Problem-solving mindset with excellent organizational skills.
