Duties
- Represent healthcare providers in various litigation matters, including Medi-Cal and Medicare reimbursement issues, audits, regulatory compliance, and medical staff disputes.
- Handle both litigation and arbitration to ensure healthcare providers receive fair payment for their services.
- Support healthcare providers and trade associations through advocacy, including legislative matters and lobbying efforts.
- Provide legal counsel on administrative law and constitutional matters as they relate to healthcare.
- Engage in both complex litigation and transactional support for healthcare entities.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, colleagues, and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in healthcare litigation, including federal and California state cases.
- Strong legal writing skills with the ability to prepare motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Knowledge of administrative and constitutional law, especially in the healthcare context, is highly desirable.
- Ability to handle complex legal matters and manage a variety of cases.
- Self-starter with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a remote team.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Skills
- Experience in healthcare law and litigation.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory frameworks, including Medi-Cal and Medicare.
- Ability to navigate complex healthcare reimbursement issues and audits.
- Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while being a proactive team player.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
