Painter/Carpenter

The Construction Services team at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research is seeking a skilled and experienced Painter/Carpenter to join our team. This candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to both painting and carpentry work. This individual must have a strong attention to detail, excellent craftsmanship, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities include Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding and patching holes and cracks Apply paint and other finishes to various surfaces with brushes and rollers Perform carpentry tasks such as framing, installing trim, doors, windows and cabinetry Repair and replace damaged woodwork, drywall and other building materials Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions using hand and power tools Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety and functionality of facilities Maintain an inventory of painting and carpentry supplies Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment Collaborate with other facilities team members to prioritize tasks and complete projects in a timely manner Additional responsibilities may be assigned, as needed Minimum Requirements experience as facilities Painter/Carpenter or similar role in either painting or carpentry techniques or both knowledge of painting materials and techniques in a commercial environment attention to detail and precision to work independently and as part of a team.
