Job Description:
Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services is looking to identify highly qualified and capable candidates to work directly with the Task Order Manager and Government Customer to provide technical management of several projects. The Lead Engineer position serves as the technical expert for the Fires Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate (FCDID) CDI-Cell overseeing projects supporting test, evaluation and training events utilizing Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) environments. Must possess a depth and breadth of several engineering disciplines with the specialized knowledge and skills to enable current and future Fires-based technologies as they relate to Army, Joint and Multi-Domain Operations.
The position will be responsible for preparing high level operational views, detailed documentation and synchronizing event requirements across multiple organizations. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the management of the Advanced Fires Integration Test Bed acting as the Technical Lead. This position will be responsible for developing support timelines, forecasting equipment and personnel resources to align with customer objectives. Provides direct input to the designated Project Event Leads and the Task Order Manager as a Kratos Defense employee supporting the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) Design, Development, Demonstration and Integration (D3I) Domain 1 Task Order. Must be able to apply science and/or engineering techniques to develop economical solutions to technical problems. Understand functional requirements, evaluate the overall system/design effectiveness, cost, reliability of military systems. Supports development, prototyping and demonstration at various site locations and provides briefings on the status of particular events or portions of the overall program as requested by the Government Customer, Program, Task or Project Manager. Travel is expected to be a part of this position and may include tactical field site locations within CONUS.

Required Education:
- At a minimum should have a bachelor's degree of science in engineering or scientific field of study from an accredited college or university.
- A relevant master's degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of relevant work experience.
- A relevant PHD degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three years of relevant work experience.
- Shall have ten (10) years of progressively complex experience in the design, integration, and analysis of military electronics, computer networking, super-minicomputers, microcomputers, and digital and graphic display systems.
- Must have at least an active Secret DoD Security Clearance.
- Demonstrated past experience in an engineering or systems engineering field is required.
- Must have demonstrated proficiency using MS Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once while ensuring each meets its individual goals and objectives.
- Planning, designing, and overseeing projects using engineering principles and methods of analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills are a desired trait for a candidate.
- Past demonstrated experience configuring and managing Fires-related tactical systems (e.g. ADSI, CDLIM, Fires Gateway, AFATDS, JADOCS, TAIS, AMDWS, FAAD C2) is a key discriminator.
