Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. is seeking an Accountant to join the Agency Finance Department. This position is Full Time/40 hours per week and located at the Main Office in Auburn, NY. The Accountant Specialist is responsible for completing vouchers, prepares journal entries and assist with the month end financial reporting for the agency.

- Prepare AP checks biweekly
- Complete all grant voucher submissions
- Monitors MWBE participation including monitoring spending and completing reporting.
- Prepare monthly benefit allocation journal entry.
- Prepare payroll posting journal entry biweekly
- Maintain accurate records, including journals, ledgers, receipts, and invoices.
- Investigate discrepancies in fee-for-service or grant/contract payments and documents results.
- Draft month end journal entries
- Make bank deposits
- Assists with CFR preparation, funder audits and the annual Agency Financial audit.
- Provides confidential internal and external customer service in all matters regarding Accounts Payable, vouchering and travel; collaborates with various programs as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualified Candidates must have:
- Associates degree in Accounting (preferred) and/or 2+ years of Accounts Receivable/Payroll experience.
- Qualified candidates must be a team player focused on exemplary internal and external customer service.
- Be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, delays or unexpected events in the workplace and/or in job responsibilities or expectations.
- Be detail oriented, organized and have strong problem solving and written/oral communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).

The Agency offers:
- 3 weeks PTO in your first year, 4 Weeks in your second year.
