Compensation: $130,000 - $180,000 / year
Description
As a Sr. Propulsion Component Engineer, you will own all aspects of spacecraft component design from concept to product realization, while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that strives to make a high-performance spacecraft from a clean sheet design.

Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.

Description
As a Sr. Propulsion Component Engineer, you will own all aspects of spacecraft component design from concept to product realization, while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that strives to make a high-performance spacecraft from a clean sheet design.
Responsibilities
- Design propulsion system valves and actuators
- Own all aspects of component design from concept to product realization
- Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
- Perform fluid, thermal, and structural analysis as required
- Work with the team and external sources to procure materials, fabricate parts, and complete assemblies
- Conduct rigorous component design and qualification testing
- Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in valve or component design
- Hands-on experience working with fluid, electrical and mechanical systems
- Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new tools
- Demonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardware
- Experience designing and operating high reliability, high performance hardware
- Experience with on-orbit propulsion components
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
- Strong project management skills and effective communication of technical concepts across multi-disciplinary teams
- Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed
