POSITION OVERVIEW Global Atlantic Financial Company (a subsidiary of Global Atlantic Financial Group Limited) is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Analyst, Variable Annuities in Brighton, MA. Responsibilities include: Support the valuation and financial reporting of variable annuity (VA) blocks. Work with the valuation team in both the reporting and analysis/review of the business. Responsible for calculating US Statutory (VM-21), Tax, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reserves, and other related actuarial balances for variable annuities. Provide analysis, including sensitivities, for both statutory and GAAP balances and earnings impacts. Maintain and improve various controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). Conduct annual impact testing for potential assumption changes. Work with the Modeling team related to any necessary modeling updates. Work with IT and data team on valuation system transformation. Support Asset Adequacy Analysis and audit and regulatory requests. 40 hours/wk; Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm; $115,981 per annum. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field plus two (2) years of actuarial experience in the life insurance and retirement industry. Completed 5 exams towards becoming an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA). This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future. Two (2) years of experience must include: Actuarial calculations, including reserves and other actuarial balances. Conducting waterfall impact analysis, stress tests, and sensitivity analysis. Working with annuities, including the knowledge of general and separate accounts. Working with actuarial modeling software. Maintaining and enhancing control mechanisms. Business analytics and the use of Microsoft Excel for the development of tools that facilitate the interpretation of actuarial model results in a clear and accessible manner. Capability to conduct impact assessments for modifications in key assumptions and updates to models, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to verify the accuracy of actuarial model calculations.
