Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first Job Description Summary The Vice President (VP), Insurance Strategy and Segment Effectiveness at Humana will spearhead the top-line Strategy Practice for the Insurance Segment. This includes strategic oversight across Medicare Advantage (Individual and Group), Medicaid, Medicare Supplement, Specialty, and Prescription Drug Plans. Additionally, this pivotal role encompasses leadership of two vital teams focused on Culture and Associate Engagement, and a robust centralized unit for Project Management, Process Improvement, Learning, and Change. These teams collaborate closely with senior leaders within the Insurance segment and across the enterprise, addressing crucial opportunities and challenges that impact both business performance and the experience of our customers and teammates. As the Vice President (VP) of Insurance Strategy and Segment Effectiveness at Humana, you are positioned at the precipice of three pivotal areas: Insurance Strategy Practice:

With the SVP, Strategy and the Insurance leadership team, you will work to craft the strategic vision for the Insurance segment, architecting top-line strategies that enhance our market position and operational performance. Culture and Associate Engagement:

Championing a vibrant workplace culture, you will drive initiatives that foster an engaging and inclusive environment. Project Management, Process Improvement, Learning and Change:

As the steward of project and process excellence, you will oversee a central team dedicated to refining our operations and implementing transformative projects. In this high-impact role, your strategic acumen and leadership will help define the future trajectory of Humana’s largest business units. Your ability to navigate complex challenges, articulate clear solutions, and drive strategic implementation will be key to our success. Specific Responsibilities Strategic Leadership:

Orchestrate the development and execution of top-tier strategic initiatives aligned with Humana’s overarching goals. Strategic Material Development:

Spearhead the creation of high-impact strategic materials that communicate Humana’s vision and progress. Board of Directors:

Prepare comprehensive and insightful presentations outlining strategic initiatives and performance metrics. Management Team:

Develop detailed reports and strategic plans for the Management Team. Investor Day:

Craft compelling narratives and presentations for Investor Day. Research and Analysis:

Dive deep into industry trends and competitive landscapes. Operating Cadence Management:

Oversee the regular operational rhythms of the Insurance Segment. Segment Performance Reviews:

Lead the development of materials for regular performance reviews. Insurance President Leadership Meetings:

Facilitate and prepare for regular leadership meetings. Cost Transformation and Administrative Savings:

Lead the segment’s efforts in cost transformation. Presentation and Communication Materials:

Develop and refine presentation materials for the Insurance President. Cultural Advocacy:

Lead by example to promote a positive work culture. Operational Excellence:

Guide the project management and process improvement teams. Mentorship and Development:

Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Communication and Influence:

Effectively communicate strategies and results to key stakeholders. Qualifications Educational Credentials:

Possess an MBA, MPH, PhD, or a graduate degree in a relevant management field. Extensive Strategy Experience:

At least 6 years of full-time, post-graduate degree work experience from a top-tier strategy consulting firm. Cultural Leadership and Associate Engagement:

Demonstrated ability to lead and shape organizational culture. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):

Proven track record in leading DEI initiatives. Learning and Development Acumen:

Experience in establishing and leading learning and development programs. Project and Process Management Expertise:

Possess certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP) or Six Sigma. Healthcare Industry Insight:

A broad and well-developed understanding of the healthcare ecosystem. Leadership and Talent Development:

Demonstrated experience in identifying and cultivating talent. Strategic Implementation:
