Vice President of Human Resources
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Human Resources VP (HRVP) to lead an HR department for a multi-state organization within the hospitality industry.
The HRVP is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, and training and development. The HRVP provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits.
Establish and implement HR plans aligning and promoting the culture, mission, and strategic vision while supporting the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
Formulate career development plans.
Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management team and BOD regarding key organizational and management issues.
Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
Work closely with the leadership team to continuously evolve the employee experience by optimizing internal events, onboarding, communication, feedback mechanisms, and employee interactions.
Manage, coach, and develop direct reports.
Implement and iterate on HR systems and processes to support the workforce.
Develop, interpret, and implement HR policies and procedures to further the company’s goals with a data driven mindset for all regions/business units.
Qualifications & Skills:
Deep knowledge of legal HR compliance matters and employment law, including best practices.
High emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate and discuss sensitive or challenging topics with an eye towards conflict resolution and problem solving.
Proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to comfortably engage with other executives, peers, and staff.
Strategic understanding of matters such as employee happiness, performance, hiring, culture transformation, organizational development, and employer branding.
Proficiency in business and human resources systems including HRIS, applicant tracking systems, learning management systems, time and attendance systems, etc.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with attention to detail.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
Qualifications:
A BS/BA degree; MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field.
A minimum of 10 years of HR experience as people leader, with at least five years of working with other department VPs.
SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
