Central Issue Facility (CIF) Warehouse Specialist


Job Description Summary:


The Warehouse Specialist at the Central Issue Facility (CIF) plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of warehouse functions related to asset requisition, receipt, storage, inventory, issue, redistribution, and turn-in of Army equipment and supplies. The position requires a thorough understanding of Army supply procedures, policies, and performance work statements (PWS). The Warehouse Specialist supports the U.S. Army, including active duty, reserves, and National Guard, and works closely with military customers to meet operational requirements and ensure compliance with Army regulations and company policies. The role involves a combination of general warehousing duties and limited technical supply chain management tasks, with an emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols.

This position is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency and readiness of Army logistics operations, ensuring that military units have the necessary equipment and supplies in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to all safety, environmental, and security standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Operations and Management:
  • Perform various warehousing duties including asset requisition, receipt, storage, classification, and redistribution of supplies.
  • Conduct inventory management, ensuring accurate records of stock levels, asset conditions, and availability.
  • Issue and turn-in equipment to military customers, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with Army regulations.
  • Maintain hand receipts and conduct reconciliations for stock items in accordance with Army policies.
  • Catalog and manage property utilization, ensuring items are properly tracked and stored in compliance with Army guidelines.
  • Coordination and Support:
  • Coordinate with internal and external contract locations and military customers to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Support training and readiness requirements for U.S. Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve units.
  • Utilize Automated Information Systems (AIS) such as Installation Support Modules (ISM), GCSS-A, AFMIS, and EESOH-MIS to manage and track assets.
  • Adhere to the Performance Work Statement (PWS), ensuring compliance with Army regulations and company policies during all tasks and operations.
  • Safety, Environmental, and Security Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols, security standards, and environmental regulations when handling hazardous materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Participate in housekeeping, warehouse maintenance, and cleanliness of internal and external areas.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) for the transport and movement of stock and supplies, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Administrative and Technical Support:
  • Operate relevant office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and computers, ensuring the smooth flow of administrative tasks.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other Automated Information Technology (AIT) functions to perform basic data entry, reporting, and communication tasks.


Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of applicable experience in warehouse operations, supply chain management, or logistics preferred.
  • Familiarity with Army supply systems and regulations is preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain a favorable background screen
  • Must pass initial and random drug tests, as well as background investigation.
  • Experience in inventory management, asset tracking, and maintaining accurate stock records.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of Army supply procedures, policies, and performance work statements (PWS).
  • Organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with military units and internal teams.
  • Excel both independently and collaboratively to meet contract and customer requirements.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and powered tools proficiently when required.
  • Show proficiency in basic-level Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Utilize Automated Information Systems (AIS) such as ISM, GCSS-A, and AFMIS effectively.
  • Adapt to various environmental conditions, including inclement weather and outdoor tasks.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient use of MHE and other warehouse tools.
  • Commit to working overtime and handling outdoor tasks as operational needs demand.


Physical Demands:

  • Lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
  • Perform duties in both indoor and outdoor environments, occasionally being exposed to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
  • Work overtime as required to meet operational demands.
