Position Summary In this role, you will oversee all quality-related processes and lead our commitment to ISO 9001 compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication and machining quality control, proven leadership abilities, and a passion for driving continuous improvement throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities Quality Management System (QMS) Leadership Oversee and maintain the ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System. Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Update and revise quality-related documentation, policies, and procedures as needed. Team Management Manage and mentor the QA/QC team, providing guidance on best practices and professional development. Foster a culture of quality ownership and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Establish clear performance goals and metrics for the team, conducting regular performance reviews. Process Improvement & Compliance Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues, non-conformities, or process gaps. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, Purchasing, etc.) to resolve product or process-related issues and drive consistent quality outcomes. Supplier Quality Management Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring quality standards are met. Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to ensure ongoing compliance and quality performance. Manage supplier corrective actions and improvement plans as required. Customer Satisfaction & Issue Resolution Investigate and resolve customer complaints or warranty claims, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Communicate directly with customers to understand quality-related concerns and demonstrate ongoing improvements. Monitor customer feedback to develop and improve quality processes and product performance. Data Analysis & Reporting Track key quality metrics (e.g., scrap, rework, defect rates) and analyze trends to drive improvement initiatives. Prepare regular reports for senior management, providing data-driven recommendations and status updates on quality performance. Present findings and progress updates to internal stakeholders, as well as external auditors and customers. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control, preferably in a metal fabrication and machining environment. At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role. Certifications: ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and auditing processes. Familiarity with various inspection methods, measuring tools, and equipment used in metalworking. Proficiency in problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone Diagram, 5 Whys) and statistical process control (SPC). Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is highly desirable.
