A law firm seeks a mid-level Corporate Attorney with 4-8 years of experience to join its team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate and transactional law, including entity formation, governance, mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions. The attorney will interact directly with clients, representing them in various business negotiations. The successful candidate will have a solid work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Duties
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of corporate and transactional documents, including supply agreements, purchase agreements, compliance documents, and merger and acquisition documents.
- Advise clients on entity formation, corporate governance, and operational matters.
- Lead negotiations for business transactions, providing strategic advice and practical solutions.
- Cultivate and maintain client relationships, identifying opportunities for business development.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on complex corporate matters.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all corporate dealings.
- Manage multiple cases or transactions simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Requirements
- 4-8 years of corporate law experience, focusing on transactional and business law.
- Proven ability to handle complex corporate transactions and advise clients effectively.
- Strong business development experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a solid work ethic and a proactive approach to legal matters.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment, working closely with clients and colleagues.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid academic credentials and a history of success in prior legal roles.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Active membership in the State Bar (preferably in Illinois).
