Description

Position Summary: Wheeling University is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Assistant (GA) for the Office of Admissions. This position is designed for a graduate student who is committed to higher education and wishes to gain comprehensive experience in admissions, student recruitment, and program planning. The GA will assist in implementing strategies designed to attract and enroll a diverse and talented group of students to the University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and execution of recruitment strategies to achieve enrollment goals.
  • Participate in on-campus and off-campus recruitment activities, including open houses, college fairs, school visits, and other recruiting events.
  • Communicate effectively with prospective students and their families through phone calls, emails, and personal meetings, providing information about the university, admission processes, financial aid, and scholarships.
  • Maintain and update prospective student databases and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Assist in the coordination of campus visit programs, including tours, information sessions, and special events.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and current enrollment in a graduate program at Wheeling University.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new software and technology.
