General Summary:

The Courier Services Technician is responsible for performing all tasks relative to specific position in a timely manner and meeting or exceeding supervisor's communicated expectations. Responsible for picking up and delivering specimens, mail, supplies and equipment as needed. Documents deliveries in accordance with current standard operating procedures. Provides exceptional customer service, dedication to patient care and ability to work well independently or as member of team. Applies LEAN/Six Sigma principles in daily duties. Understand basic supply chain, LEAN, Six Sigma and medical terminology. Follows all applicable policies, procedures, and manufacturers guidelines. As needed assists with, preparing orders to ship, stocking inventory locations, and maintaining/staging of assigned inventory locations in a clean and orderly fashion.

Responsibilities:

1. Primarily responsible for picking up, transport, and delivering specimens, mail, supplies and equipment as needed 2. Documents deliveries in accordance with current standard operating procedures 3. Performs transportation or escort services for both internal and external customers, ensuring that the right product is delivered to the right place at the right time. 4. Inspects vehicle daily prior to operation, documenting any discrepancies. Ensure vehicle maintains no less than one-half tank fuel daily. Assists with moving vehicle to and from maintenance facility as required. Assure vehicle is clean of personal trash prior to and end of shift 5. As directed assists in the receipt, distribution, and delivery of resources, supplies and equipment, including, but not limited to disposable medical supplies/equipment, linen and mail. 6. May assist with Resource Management Technician functions as needed, to include: a. Unloads, sorts and breaks-down inbound shipments; staging materials, picking orders for hospital/clinic needs utilizing standard operating procedures (SOP), b. Efficiently operating in electronic inventory management systems, receiving, counting and decrementing inventories in accordance with department SOP. c. Recall management, inventory monitoring for expirations or loss, cycle counting and inventory analysis activities, escalating issues, concerns or questions. 7. Effectively, communicates with teams and clinical partners to ensure product is available at the right place, the right time, and in the right quantity. 8. Applies and adheres to LEAN principles according to division performance improvement methodology. 9. Safely operate Resource Management vehicles 10. Serves as a backup for other department roles as directed by departmental leadership 11. Actively participates in root-cause problem solving investigations. 12. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of department responsibilities

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

; Credential(s): Driver License Driving Record Required. Heartsaver - Within 90 days, if not already obtained. DOT Physical ; Experience: Required: Six months or more of Health Care Supply Chain/LEAN/Six Sigma, Military or Warehouse Inventory experience. Preferred: Six months or more of Health Care Supply Chain/LEAN/Six Sigma or Customer Service experience Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
