The City of Virginia Beach is seeking a highly qualified
Behavioral Health Clinical Oversight Specialist
with experience providing clinical services to adults with serious mental health and/or substance use disorders. This role will be a critical part of our Behavioral Health Case Management Unit, overseeing clinical operations, providing direct services, and ensuring quality care. Primary Duties:
Serve as a senior Clinician and Team Leader with the BH Case Management unit, and assists other programs as needed. Perform assessments, treatment planning, clinical interventions, consultation, and authorization of treatment. Foster a learning environment for Clinician's across a wide range of experience levels ensuring appropriate training is available with the opportunity to provide supervision and guidance to QMHP-Trainees. Lead a program dedicated to quality to providing quality clinical services to adults with mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Facilitate a multi-disciplinary staff treatment team. Perform quality assurance functions and review/authorize the medical necessity of services for clients in the MHSS and other collateral programs. Provide clinical oversight to Behavioral Health Case Managers and consults with Case Management Supervisor. Assist with ensuring compliance with all DBHDS Licensure, Medicaid and CARF requirements. Assist with the implementation, monitoring and follow up on case management service standards. Review data related to productivity and makes recommendations for training or other needed staff direction. Perform assessments, treatment planning, clinical intervention, consultation, and other case management duties within the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services. Provide guidance and leadership to team members who provide case management services for consumers in the community, consumers in jail, and consumers recently released from the hospital. Assist with quality assurance of team member charts and facilitate small team meetings for the purpose of disseminating information, case coordination and supervision. Why Join Us?
