District: Genesee Intermediate School District The Social Worker Specialist supports the vision and mission of the Genesee Intermediate School District by assisting students who need social work services.
AVAILABLE:
One (1) Full-Time position available; 7.0 hours per day, 186 days per year (balanced calendar).
SALARY
:
Certificated Salary Schedule. Genesee Intermediate Education Association (GIEA).
BENEFITS:
We offer five different health insurance plans along with dental, vision, disability, and life insurance after one full day of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must hold a valid bachelor level social worker license through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA); be enrolled in a Master of Social Work, with a school social work approval program, at an accredited university; work under the direct supervision of the local district Administrator of Special Education Programs; must be mentored by a Michigan LARA licensed master level social worker with full approval as a school social worker; must make progress toward the Social Work Master's degree each year by successfully fulfilling the university obligations to remain in the program; and must complete the Master's program in 3 years and receive temporary approval as a school social worker (unless there are unforeseen university delays, such as canceling a scope and sequence required course.)
Experience: Successful school social work experience preferred.
