The Director of Human Resources role provides daily operational support to managers at all locations and oversees the Operations Human Resources team. This position is located in Willmar, MN and offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Lead, manage, and develop the right people in the right seats within the Operations HR team, providing day-to-day coaching and guidance to develop high-performing, professional HR business partners. Partner closely with the Corporate HR Manager on program creation and implementation. Partner with Plant Managers, operations management team members, and Talent Acquisition to identify talent needs and coordinate efforts to recruit skilled workers aligned to job requirements. Partner with managers in supporting and leading a safety-first culture. Facilitate succession planning for key Operations positions and align training and development needs to ensure talent is available and ready to assume positions of greater responsibility. Lead the performance management process for the Operations team, including succession planning and management calibration meetings. Provide coaching and guidance to managers and HR team members regarding employment issues, addressing behavior and performance concerns. Lead team member engagement efforts aligned to becoming an Employer of Choice. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company HR policies and procedures. Oversee required reporting on a federal and state level. Focus on cross-training, learning and development, and continuous improvement. Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with professional certification preferred (HRCI, SPHR, SHRM) and a minimum of ten years of HR experience in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics organization. Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization. Bilingual in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) preferred, but not required. Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data/facts to support valid conclusions and sound recommendations. Professional demeanor and presence with the ability to speak and make effective presentations to groups. Flexible to travel up to 25% of the time.
