Senior Systems Network Administrator

As a Senior Systems Network Administrator for Helena School District, you would be responsible for operating, maintaining, and participating in the design and delivery of the district's information systems

to achieve an effective, consistent, and efficient learning environment for both students and staff. This position facilitates academic achievement through the operations of a robust and reliable infrastructure that supports current and future technologies.

Some of what you will do: Lead other network administrators, system administrators, IT Specialists, and provide oversight of contract or managed service providers. Management of security systems to include but not limited to firewalls, VPN, content filters and network-based security. Establish, configure and troubleshoot voice and data networks for districtwide use. Perform complex computing environment build-outs, user training, installation, maintenance and support with emphasis on documentation of operating procedures and processes. Maintain and extend systemwide reliability through active monitoring and deciphering of error logs and reported network issues. Conduct regular tests for speed, security and reliability. Independently perform hands on technical troubleshooting and take appropriate corrective action to resolve. Troubleshooting techniques may include interaction with vendors in performing dynamic testing. Provide escalated technical support to the application infrastructure that runs on the Windows servers, this includes but is not limited to Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, DNS, DCHP, etc. Ensure storage networks (CPU/Memory/Storage/Network connectivity/etc.) are within capacity limits and functioning, planning for and implementing changes to remediate for maximum proactivity. Manage licenses for infrastructure related hardware and software ensuring compliance with license requirements. Stay current on best practices to evaluate and recommend improvements to procedures and practices to protect data's confidentiality, integrity and availability. The successful candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, business or related field and seven (7) years of experience in information systems and network administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District. Experience managing a computer environment including but not limited to: information systems, infrastructure (servers and networking), storage networks, management tools (RSAT secure crt, etc.,, desktop applications, security systems, audio and video notification systems (bell, intercom, paging, emergency), and/or telephony systems. Experience implementing and servicing a robust and reliable network of over 5000 users both internal and external in a multi-site environment. This position is on-site.

Starting salary is $77,333.26-$86,664.76 per year depending on experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
