Software Development Engineer II, AWS Billing, AWS Billing
Job ID: 2850140 | Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. AWS Commerce Platform Tax and Compliance team is looking for software development engineers with a strong sense of ownership and passion for delivering creative solutions for complex problems at "Amazon scale". You will design highly scalable systems, develop distributed services, and build solid platform solutions based on the real-time customer data and demanding service-level agreements. You will collaborate with some of the best engineers in the industry and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing.

Key job responsibilities
AWS Billing Tax team is responsible for the building systems that calculate Taxes and Invoices for all the regions and markets where AWS has customers. In this role, you will: Drive projects to launch AWS into new regions, Think globally and act locally to deliver the best customer experience in any region, Make new region expansion repeatable, simple, and faster, and Deliver scalable systems/workflows to address the region-specific regulatory/compliance requirements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
