Department Overview
This is a full-time position located at Randall’s Children’s Hospital (RCH) supporting the OHSU pediatric ENT inpatient and ED service. The position will partner with OHSU pediatric ENT physicians to provide excellent clinical care and customer service.
This position is 100% onsite at Randall’s Children’s Hospital in NE Portland, OR. Proposed hours: Wednesday through Friday 7a-5p, Saturday and Sunday 7a-12p.
Function/Duties of Position
The APP will provide inpatient and ED consultation, rounding, and discharge daily. The APP will support the surgeon with pre/post-op documentation and orders, trach care/rounds/discharges, and some clinic work primarily involving postop and preop. Common minor procedures (list not inclusive): trach care, trach changes, fiberoptic nasopharyngoscopy, frenulectomy, I&D superficial and peritonsillar abscesses, occasional first assist in OR, wound care, dressing changes, and drain removal. Common types of patient complaints include: otitis media, airway obstruction, sinusitis, hearing loss, facial and/or nasal trauma, neck masses, foreign body, epistaxis, croup, allergic reactions, and infections. Required Qualifications
Oregon License, NPI, and Certification. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner. PALS Certification. Sufficient ENT experience with the patient population and knowledge of necessary resources. Ability to prioritize work; knowledge of clinical support systems, including EPIC and order entry; flexible, calm, non-judgmental, professional demeanor; ability to work independently to complete a variety of tasks simultaneously; capacity to see what is best for the clinic and the patient rather than what is best for specific individuals; proven organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multitask. Experience in pediatric ENT inpatient setting preferred; will be required to perform the following procedures: trach care, trach changes, fiberoptic nasopharyngoscopy, frenulectomy, I&D superficial and peritonsillar abscesses, occasional assisting in surgery, wound care, dressing changes, and drain removal preferred.
