Position Summary:
The Funding Specialist is responsible for file preparations and communications with third parties to ensure a loan is funded properly. This role reviews all documents to ensure accuracy and facilitates timely monetary transfers.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
* Prepare File for Funding * Check all title requirements and recordable documents for validity and insurability * Release and/or set up wires for disbursement and printing checks * Work with vendors/attorneys/partners to facilitate the funding of loans on time * Report any discrepancies, issues, shortages, or funding errors immediately * Follow up and remediation on daily deposits, delayed fundings, escalations, funding issues, funding exceptions, stale checks, file balances * Review exception reports to communicate delays and issues to customers * Work on final funding process: overnight checks, booking or posting wires and deposits, wire confirmations, prepare FFD paperwork * RDC Deposits and Positive Pay * Mail out payments, scan documents, follow up on tax payments, handle remittance corrections * Maintain compliance on wire and check policies * Assist with file balances and stale checks * Help with post-closing, recording and policy as necessary
Job Requirements
Qualifications Required: * High school diploma or equivalent. * 3+ years of title/mortgage or financial company experience desired. * Detail oriented * Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service * Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices * Knowledge of basic computer programs to include Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet, and Microsoft Outlook.
