Medix is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner specializing in Psychiatry to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality mental health care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. The Psych NP will work with individuals experiencing mental health conditions from underserved communities in the greater Los Angeles. This role requires a strong understanding of psychiatric disorders, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Requirements:
2+ years as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with experience with mental health assessment, diagnosis, triage, managing common psychiatric medication and treatment plans and managing crisis; Pediatric experience is a plus Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred. An unrestricted license and valid DEA number in the state of California ? Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Registration with state Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid) No adverse actions by any nursing board, hospital or other credentialing body in the past 3 years. A master's or doctoral degree from an accredited university or graduate program in psychiatric mental health nursing The ability to provide telehealth Proficient with technology and the use of EHR systems, Epic preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Review medical history and other related medical records within patient's chart and/or by reviewing patient's relevant information accessible through LANES portal (medical information exchange portal). Order laboratory tests, as needed. Review and evaluate results. Prescribe and manage medications as appropriate, using electronic system. ? Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Communicate directly with patients regarding urgent needs. Document medical encounter, symptoms, medication, treatment, orders and referrals utilizing Electronic Medical Records System (Epic). Responsible for closing encounters within 48 hours after the visit. Perform crisis interventions as needed, including suicide assessments, participate in providing recommendations to medical providers and patients, determine if crisis response services are appropriate for patient safety. Collaborate with physicians, social workers, case managers, administrators and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options. ? Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. Participate in case conferences and providers meetings. Stay current with developments in psychiatric nursing and mental health care. ? Stays in compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
