General Summary of Property Operations:
Commercial Real Estate Property Operations team oversees the daily operations of commercial properties. The role requires a blend of property management expertise, financial acumen, and strong communication skills. Their primary duties include:
Tenant Relations: Managing tenant communications, addressing concerns, and ensuring tenant satisfaction.
Leasing: Coordinating lease agreements, renewals, and negotiating rental terms with prospective tenants.
Property Maintenance: Ensuring the property is well-maintained, coordinating repairs, and managing cleaning and landscaping services.
Financial Management: Creating and managing budgets, overseeing rent collection, paying bills, and ensuring financial performance of the property.
Compliance: Ensuring the property complies with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Marketing and Advertising: Promoting the property to attract tenants, using various marketing strategies.
Contract Management: Managing service contracts and vendor relationships for building maintenance and operations.
General Summary of Internship role:
Assists the Property Operations team with tasks and assignments related to the functions and requirements of the Property Operations Office. The Summer Intern will provide support to the Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager and Chief Engineer as needed.
Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Summer Intern may assist Property Operations team in various activities and will gain exposure to many areas within the Property Operations Department, including but not limited to: Scheduling and overseeing contractors/vendors Prioritizing "in-house" vendor assignments and minor maintenance issues Budgeting for minor maintenance requirements and supply/equipment purchases Meeting with clients regarding minor facilities issues, solutions, and remediation Participating in building inspections Interacting with tenants and receiving requests for information and services
Creating work orders for tenant services
Maintaining tenant/contractor/vendor databases and files Assisting with monthly Property Management Status Report Education Requirements:
Candidate for a bachelor's degree entering junior or senior year. A concentration in property management/operations and/or real estate is preferred. Experience / Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
Demonstrated interest in real estate and/or property management/operations Must be a self-starter and can work independently A motivated and cooperative attitude Must have attention-to-detail and excellent organizational skills Possess excellent oral and written communication skills Must have good time management skills Excellent computer skills are required. Knowledge of relevant operations software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
