Description Join Leidos as a Senior Network Architect and play a key role in our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, contributing to significant IT initiatives for the Department of Defense. PROGRAM SUMMARY: The DES program demands a skilled and experienced professional to enhance DISA's enterprise Information Technology (IT) services. As part of this role, you'll engage in a thorough IT discovery, design, and migration process aimed at establishing a Single Service Provider model for the Department of Defense, streamlining multiple IT services from various large-scale DoD agencies into DoDNet. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active SECRET security clearance is required. US Citizenship is mandatory. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and design secure network solutions to unify connectivity services under an enterprise framework. Collaborate with key stakeholders and technical experts to assess legacy environments, focusing on capabilities, configurations, and unique requirements to create robust designs and architectures. Design comprehensive wide area connectivity solutions, including underlay, overlay, and COI transport design, ensuring performance, quality of service, security, and mission alignment. Create secure access solutions using wired and wireless technologies, integrating relevant standards and use cases, along with developing implementation and transition plans. Incorporate capacity planning and scaling strategies into the overall network and security solutions design. Analyze and implement network optimization techniques to fulfill capacity and performance expectations. Map existing legacy service paths and formulate strategies for future enterprise service capabilities, balancing security and sustainability. Support the development of IP addressing schemes across various networks including IPv4 and IPv6. Work alongside information assurance teams to ensure adherence to DoD standards and aid in producing accreditation documents. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics preferred, with 12-15 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of experience. Additional applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Must possess a network certification that meets or exceeds CCNA requirements (comparable vendor certifications may be accepted). Active DoD IAT Level II certification or equivalent (e.g., Security+) must be completed prior to commencing work. Proficient in documenting designs using tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, or Gliffy to visualize systems and their interactions. Skilled in troubleshooting technical issues effectively. Experience in conducting site surveys or analyzing data from site surveys. Capable of planning and executing migration strategies for networks, services, or data, or refreshing existing IT systems. Extensive experience with the upgrade and lifecycle refresh of network devices. Broad understanding of fundamental IT networking concepts including LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, Routing, and Firewalls. Experience with two or more of the following network technologies: Cisco, Juniper, F5, Aruba, Palo Alto, Dell, Brocade, Fortinet. Demonstrated ability to design and implement mid to large-scale network infrastructures along with producing detailed technical documentation. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate on troubleshooting complex network challenges. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation. Ability to communicate significant matters to executive leadership both internally and to clients. Capable of presenting designs and plans effectively to technical leadership for approvals. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification. Experience with enterprise network management tools like PaloAlto Panorama, SolarWinds, or Cisco Prime. Expertise in designing and implementing Video Teleconference (VTC) solutions. Familiarity with products like ScienceLogic SL1 and SolarWinds. Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies. In-depth knowledge of DoD security standards for network infrastructure. Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline and is subject to various factors, including job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
